Researchers at Northwest Research Associates, Inc., have been actively investigating ionospheric scintillation effects on communication and navigation systems for over 30 years. NWRA's WBMOD and SCINTMOD state-of-the-art models of the global climatology of ionospheric scintillation and its potential effects on systems form the basis of a wide range of products and impact assessment studies NWRA can provide for its customers.

The following demonstrations are examples of the type of services NWRA can provide:

• Daily predictions of scintillation levels at various places around the world based on the SCINTMOD model and data provided by the NOAA Space Environment Center. These maps are updated daily.
• Solar maximum predictions of scintillation levels at various places around the world based on the SCINTMOD model.
• Customer-tailored assessments of the effects of scintillation on:
  • A particular set of paths over northern South America.
  • A receiver located at two high-latitude locations (Alaskan and North Sea Sectors)
  • [NEW]GPS scintillation impact chart.
